I read an article recently about a book that came out a while back (note: I didn’t actually read the book – just the article about the book) that started some good thought and conversation amongst the group here. Not sure but I think the book is called something like “Love is the killer app” or something like that.
In essence, it had to do with the idea that sales – or business in general – is built on principles that go deeper than simple transactions and that if you can open up business relationships to operate on the same level as your personal relationships (or at least the good ones), then you have a platform for doing all kinds of great things together – not the least of which is selling.

What does this have to do with anything?
There is this section of the Bible that talks about being blessed by basically un-blessing yourself. That is to say, you gain more when you give more (I’m doing some big-time paraphrasing here).
Seems to me that if you peel back the first couple of layers of any well-branded company or product, you’ll find something in there that looks generous. I’m thinking now of several of our favorite brands and, at least at first glance, there might actually be something to this beatitudinal thing as it relates to building long-term customer relationships.
Hmmm…
(more on this whole idea in subsequent posts – maybe even with examples!!)
Brightwork has been working with our good friends at The Armfield Group for the past 3 years providing creative and production support for OM Ships’ multi-million dollar effort to bring hope to the hardest-reached areas of the world.
And we’re extremely proud to say that the fruits of those efforts are now sailing under the banner of the newly fitted out Logos Hope!
Often times, when kids come in to foster care, they are taken away from their homes and families with literally no notice and only the clothes or pajamas they are wearing at the time. It’s usually a very scary thing for a kid to deal with.
Taylor’s Closet’s mission is to touch less fortunate girls with the love of their Father by giving them a little hope and love in the form of some nice new clothes. In the process they’re proving to them that that are valuable. And they are lovely. And that somebody actually cares.
Brightwork has been working with Taylor’s Closet since it was first born a couple of years ago providing strategic guidance, media and creative help, and whatever it takes to get their vital message out.
Watermark Yacht Management MOVES (literally) some of the largest and most luxurious yachts in the world. We have been working with their charter division for some time providing promotional tools and expertise in helping them reach their VERY exclusive market.
For that, we get to show off some of the most spectacular floating real estate you’ve ever seen – and Watermark gets to take another bite out of someone else’s market share.
Brightwork has been working with Medi-Share for over 6 years now in a collaborative partnership with their in-house marketing team, to define their brand and offerings and do it in the most efficient way possible.
The course of our relationship spans everything from basic brand & identity work, strategic communications, design, web development and everything in between.
We’re proud of our relationship with Medi-Share – because of the work they are doing – and because we’re no longer just clients and vendors – we’re partners.
