Dear Internet, we have not known the world without you.

We are now at the time in the USA where graduating High-School Seniors have never known a world without the internet. They have never gone to school without a computer being one of the primary teaching tools. They have never learned how the world might work without a processor, a keypad, and a screen.

And understandably, we are in an energy race, and… is there anything more important to our national interests?

I imagine for a second that all the lights go out. I imagine that the power plants run out of fuel, the gas supply goes dry, and winter slowly approaches…

And then I get a little scared. And a little depressed.

And then there’s a part of me that really wants that simplicity, that wants less hours staring at a screen, less flashing lights, and less information constantly in front of me. I want to look more people in the eye, shake more hands, walk more, be outside more. I want genuine information, full information, not just blips and 1-sentence summaries. I want real friends and people who are not thinking about what they will get from the relationship. I want to do something fun that doesn’t cost money. I want to go somewhere where I am not viewed as a consumer. I want to rest where I am not being subjected to an advertisement. I want to focus on one thing at a time, not seven. I want to know how to move slower but still be effective. I want less.

And all of this from someone who, admittedly, is “filling up the space” …contributing to the clogging of the internet-sphere. To the glut of information. Is there any way to redeem all this?

There is an opinion that Technology Will Save Us. But we take the bad with the good, until, I think we take just a little too much. Maybe a lot too much.

What it means to me is this: If we’re gonna do this, if we’re gonna shape this world, let’s make it good.

Let’s make it useful, let’s make it interesting, let’s make it fun. Let’s be the best we can be with what we have. And sometimes, let’s decide that it’s not worth it. Let’s decide to stop. To rest, to breathe, and to not worry what the world demands of us.

Hill Robinson USA Yacht Management selects Brightwork to create promotional materials

Blog, News Comments Off

Hill Robinson USA, formerly Watermark Yacht Management – MOVES (literally) some of the largest and most luxurious yachts in the world. We have been working with their charter division for some time providing promotional tools and expertise in helping them reach their VERY exclusive market.

For that, we get to show off some of the most spectacular floating real estate you’ve ever seen – and Watermark gets to take another bite out of someone else’s market share.

One of the greatest responses has been coming from useful and interesting videos. These videos, sent out in video emails, explain a relevant and current policy in the yachting world.
